We Buy Vintage Photobooths!

Analog photobooth, dip and dunk, vintage, chemical black and white photobooth … we are passionate about keeping these icons a part of American culture for future generations to enjoy. Do you have a photobooth that you’re tired of maintaining or storing? We’ve purchased all kinds, can fix anything, and offer fair prices.

Selling a vintage photo booth?

We pay top of the market prices

Yes, we really do pay top dollar – to the extent that we’ve been made fun of in the past for paying too much. We are a small shop and consistently offer more due to lower overhead and a love for these machines beyond just making profit. In short, we are collectors. With Photo Bang, if you get a better offer we’ll beat it.

We’ve purchased photobooths from San Francisco to New York City, and Los Angeles to Quebec. Mint condition cut up and on their last leg. We buy in bulk as well. Typically we just need some info and a handful of photos to offer a fair price for your photo booth. We can pay quickly and send a freight company to pick the machine up. We also offer valuations or suggestions for where else to sell it, or even how to fix it yourself.

1958 Model 14 Wing-Top Photobooth

This photobooth lived it’s entire life in the world famous Playland Arcade on Times Square, NY until it closed it’s doors in 1994. We purchased it from the collector who owned it from 1994 until 2018. Sold unrestored to Warner Bros for use a set prop in the film It: Chapter 2, released in 2019.

1968 Model 17 Photobooth

Purchased from a bar on the East Coast and brought to Denver for restoration. It had been maintained well over it’s near-50 year life, though the exterior needed some loving clean up as it was contemporary to it’s last restoration in the 1990s. We returned it to a more vintage design.

What does a Photo Bang restoration look like?

While every restoration is different, Photo Bang’s focus is to keep with the original appearance and style of each photobooth. We regularly encounter photobooths that have been altered in both appearance and function. All restorations focus on getting a booth working and then returning them to their intended appearance. Below are details on restore that we performed on a booth we sold a while back.

  • Installing new metal trim around the doorway
  • Installing new Linoleum grey linen finish floor
  • A “tune” of the interior mechanics
  • Sanding and painting camera body exterior
  • New capacitor installed into “silver box” flash controller
  • Installing original vintage photobooth curtain
  • Building a pallet with straps to ship the photobooth
